Free Family Fun Day

Bring the whole family for FREE admission all day! From 10:00 am–3:00 pm, meet Snoopy, visit Sonoma County Library’s mobile BiblioBus, and enjoy hands-on activities with First 5 California. At 2:00 pm, celebrate the 50th anniversary of It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, with Jason Mendelson of Lee Mendelson Film Productions.

Peanuts Shadow Box Happy Hour

Adults are invited to transform a flat Peanuts image into a layered paper shadow box scene like the ones in the Museum’s Peek-a-boo Box exhibit while sampling wines from Quivira Vineyards, known for their organic farming methods and co-fermentation, phased harvesting and barrel aging.

Second Saturday Cartoonist: Breena Nuñez

Meet, watch, and talk to Breena Nuñez, whose comics appear in The New Yorker and in the anthologies Tales From La Vida: A Latinx Comics Anthology, Drawing Power (Eisner Award Winner, 2020), and Be Gay, Do Comics! (Ignatz Award Winner, 2020).

Museum Member SWAP Week

Discover the many incredible museums in Sonoma County by spending a week museum-hopping! Current members at ANY of the seven participating museums will receive reciprocal FREE entry (up to 4 guests.)

Comic Artist Badge Workshop

Girl Scout Cadettes will earn their Comic Artist badge. Cadettes will learn how to create a four-panel comic strip, and can attend in person or online.

Second Saturday Cartoonist: Eddie Ahn

Meet, watch, and talk to cartoonist and illustrator Eddie Ahn as he celebrates the release of his debut book, Advocate. Ahn has been an environmental justice attorney, served as president of the San Francisco Commission on the Environment, and is a self-taught artist.

Happy Mother’s Day

Treat Mom, or yourself, to a special day at the Schulz Museum! Mothers receive free admission all day in celebration of Mother’s Day.

Blast Off! (Grades 1-3)

Blast off into a week of space exploration! Learn about planets, constellations, and comets. Create a nebula in a jar, design light-up constellations, build and test a space lander, launch water rockets, and explore the exhibition Snoopy in Orbit. Instructor: Angelica Blancas-Mims  

Fantasy Creatures and Worlds (Grades 4-6)

Create a world full of fantasy creatures like dragons, phoenixes, centaurs, and fantastic fairies with professional artist Barbara Golden. Learn basic drawing skills and coloring, blending, and shading to create your world with markers and watercolors.

LEGO Animation 1 (Grades 1-3)

Build sets and characters with LEGOs, then create a short stop-motion movie using iPads. Work in groups to add special effects, dialogue, and music!

Sketching the Wild (Grades 4-6)

Join professional artist Barbara Golden and learn how to draw bears, wolves, and lynx. Practice sketching and shading with pencil lines, outlining with black ink, and adding color to your art. Finish the week with an art show of your work!

Camp Freeze 4 (Grades 4-6)

Chill out this summer with cool and creative projects! Make ice cream in a bag, grow a crystal tree, and create a sparkling winter luminary. Also, ice skate Monday through Thursday at Snoopy’s Home Ice!

Outdoor Art and Adventure Mini (Pre-K to K)

Get up, go, and create! Keep moving all week with outdoor games and art activities. Explore labyrinths and mosaics, paint with fly swatters and sticks, and enjoy fun outdoor eco-crafts. Instructor: Angelica Blancas-Mims

Acting for Peanuts 1 (Grades 1-3)

Explore theater arts while bringing Peanuts to life on the Schulz Museum’s stage! Learn stage terminology, dive into script reading and writing, play improv games, and wrap it up by acting in a mini-performance based on Charles Schulz’s Peanuts comic strips. Instructor: Annie Cooper

Surf’s Up, Snoopy! (Grades 1-3)

Explore the exhibition Cowabunga, Peanuts! and dive into ocean-themed arts and crafts. Help surfer Snoopy balance on his surfboard, discover the layers of the ocean and the animals that live there, make an edible ocean, and craft some ocean creatures to take home. Instructor: Mike Marquez

Have a deliciously fun week cooking treats the Peanuts gang loves to eat. Make Pig Pens in a blanket, Charlie brownies, and treats for Snoopy that you can eat too! *No camp on Thursday, July 4

Digital Art and Coding (Grades 4-6)

Experiment with digital photography and photo mix-ups, mash-ups, and editing. Create computer animation, draw and design with iPad apps, and explore the world of 3D digital sculpting and video game coding. Instructor: Mike Marquez *No camp on Thursday, July 4

Summer Science Mini (Pre-K to K)

Explore all things summer—the night sky, water play, the science of bugs, and more. Launch water rockets, make art using the sun, sculpt a river for sailboats, create mini volcanoes, and mix super sand slime! Instructor: Mike Marquez

Art Lab (Grades 1-3)

Get messy mixing art and science! Make scratch-and-sniff artwork, sculpt homemade clay, create masterpieces with marble diffusion, experiment with some surprising chemical reactions, and learn the science behind animation. Instructor: Angelica Blancas-Mims

Camp Woodstock (Grades 1-3)

Go on a camp adventure around the Museum and celebrate 55 years of the smallest Peanuts character. Decorate a birdhouse and birdbath, make tie-dye t-shirts, and learn about things that fly with paper airplane races, kite making, and catapults.

Advanced LEGO Animation (Grades 4-6)

Build sets and characters with LEGOs to create a short stop-motion movie using iPads. Learn story structure, character development, and how to add lights, cameras, and green screen technology. No prior experience required. Instructor: Mike Marquez

Outdoor Art and Adventure (Grades 1-3)

Keep moving all week with outdoor games and art activities. Mold a marble mosaic, create leaf prints, make a nature bookmark, paint with fly swatters and sticks, and enjoy other fun outdoor eco-crafts. Instructor: Angelica Blancas-Mims    

Let’s Make Comics! (Grades 4-6)

Join professional comics creator Jess Smart Smiley (Let’s Make Comics, What Happens Next) for a week of reading, exploring, and making comics! Dive pencil-first into the world of captions, gutters, and panels while building ideas for characters and stories and creating your own comics.

Ready, Set, Dough! (Grades 1-3)

Mix and make playdough, bouncing balls, and super slime. Plus, learn the science of combining substances for some yummy and unexpected results, including applesauce oobleck, bread in a bag, and more. Instructor: Mike Marquez

Comic Lab (Grades 6 and up)

Level up your comic skills with professional cartoonist Jess Smart Smiley (Let’s Make Comics, What Happens Next)! Build characters, craft stories, and explore the world of captions, gutters, and panels as you write and draw your own comics.

Summer Science (Grades 1-3)

Delve into summer science by baking solar s’mores, building the ultimate bug catcher, and cooling down with a day of hands-on water exploration and play. Instructor: Mike Marquez

Painting on Canvas (Grades 6 and up)

Tap into your surroundings to create custom creations with professional artist Barbara Golden. Learn how to paint clouds, grass, flowers, animals, glass objects, water, and more while experimenting with different paints, brushes, and painting techniques. Open to painters at any level.

Cartoon Safari (Grades 1-3)

Draw amazing aardvarks, cute kangaroos, and fierce, furry, and feathered friends, along with their homes and habitats. Join Emmy award-winning cartoonist, maze-maker, and storyteller Joe Wos for a week of storytelling, guided drawing lessons, and hands-on fun!

Manga and Pokémon (Grades 4-6)

Learn to draw your favorite manga and Pokémon characters, and tap into your imagination to make your own creations, too! Join professional artist Barbara Golden to practice sketching and shading with pencil lines, outlining with black ink, and adding color to your manga art.

Blank Page to BAM! Cartooning Master Class (Grades 4-6)

Unleash your inner artist and storyteller! Join Emmy award-winning cartoonist and professional storyteller Joe Wos for a week-long summer camp explosion of creativity. Experiment with speech bubbles and panels and discover how to create comic stories, from inspiration to the page!

Manga and Anime (Grades 6 and up)

Dive into the world of manga with professional artist Barbara Golden. Learn how to draw your favorite manga and anime characters, including eyes, hair, and bodies, as well as Chibi, Shoho, and Ghibli characters using pencils, ink, markers, and watercolor.

Kids Cook Mini (Pre-K to K)

Have a deliciously fun week cooking up kid-friendly recipes and food-friendly crafts. Make pancake tacos and muffins, ice cream cone cupcakes, and healthy summer smoothies. Plus, see how many savory snacks you can skewer on a stick!
