Kids Night at the Museum

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.  Drop your kids off for after-hours fun including a pizza dinner, crafts, games, cartooning, and a movie! Recommended for ages 5­–10. Registration required. 

Homeschool Day: Art and Creativity

Advance registration has closed for this event. Invent, innovate, and delve into the creative process! Join the Schulz Museum for a morning of hands-on exploration. Experiment with solar cars, basic coding, building LED throwies, making your own paint, and more! Ice skating at Snoopy’s Home Ice also available from 12:30 pm–2:00 pm. Registration required.

Fall Friday Film Series: The Last Picture Show

Watch Charles Schulz’s favorite films on the big screen. This month, watch Jeff Bridges and Cybill Shepherd in the Oscar-winning film, The Last Picture Show (1971), a coming-of-age story set in a culturally and economically dying Texas town. Sponsored by Craig Schulz. Advance tickets available! 

Veterans Day

Veterans are invited to enjoy free Museum admission today in honor of their dedicated service and in tribute to Charles M. Schulz’s military service. (A military discount on admission is offered to veterans and active military on all other days of the year at the Schulz Museum.)

Comic Artist Badge Workshop

Girl Scout Cadettes will earn and receive their Comic Artist badge in this special hands-on workshop in-person at the Schulz Museum. Museum staff will teach you how to develop stories and characters and create your own four-panel comic strip from beginning to end, while completing all five steps of the Comic Artist badge. Thanksgiving Celebration with Snoopy

Celebrate giving thanks, friendships, and family—Peanuts style! Join Snoopy for photos, hands-on activities, and fun with popcorn and jellybeans! Also, watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on the big screen. Bring two food items to donate to the Redwood Empire Food Bank and receive one free child’s admission.

Snoopy Come Home

Watch the feature-length Peanuts film, Snoopy Come Home (1972) on the Museum’s big screen. When Snoopy receives a letter from his former owner Lila, who's in a hospital, he goes on a journey with Woodstock to see her.

How to Holiday ‘Toon (Grades K and Up)

Family Fun Weekend

Join cartoonist and storyteller Joe Wos for live performances and cartoon workshops throughout the day on the Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. A master maze-maker and cartoonist, Joe Wos is the artist behind the internationally syndicated feature MazeToons and the best-selling MazeToons book series. Wos has been performing his live illustrated storytelling nationwide for over 25 years.

Gingerbread Doghouse Workshops

Create sensory masterpieces using peppermint, cinnamon, vanilla, or food coloring; collage a cozy fireplace; make holiday ornaments and cards; and more!

Holiday Art and Cheer (Grades 4 and up)

This class is SOLD OUT. Click here to join the waitlist. This three day camp meets Monday through Wednesday, December 20–22 9:00 am–12:30 pm. Draw and paint cartoons, comics, and holiday cards, including colorful scenes from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Join artist Barbara Golden to learn fine art skills—pencil sketching, shading, outlining, adding color, and painting—while making holiday masterpieces to gift away or hang at home.

Holiday Hooray! (Grades K–3)

Snoopy in Space (Grades K–3)

Creating Comic Characters (Grades 4 and up)

Learn the basics of character construction while exploring proportion and symmetry. Collage your character and create a 3D model with clay before creating your own comic strip story. Instructor: Michael Marquez

Snow Day (Grades K and up)

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!

This event has been CANCELED. Celebrate the New Year with the Peanuts Gang! Do your best Snoopy dance and ring in 2022 with an Up Down Balloon Drop and Baby Balloon Drop (for children 4 and under and their families) at Noon, and a second Balloon Drop at 3:00 pm—including appearances by Snoopy himself! Plus, enjoy fun crafts for kids, make a balloon Snoopy, and watch Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! on the big screen.

LIVE ONLINE: Drawn from Life Portrait Workshop

This is an online class. Learn the rules of facial features and proportion so you can break them! Artist Tami Tsark will teach the construction of the face and guide you through practicing key elements to render expressive portraits. Workshop will be held online via Zoom from 9:30–11:30 am PT. Registration required.
