Learn the basics of coding using Swift Playgrounds and Tynker for iPads. Populate a video-game setting with your own computer characters. Then make them move, make sound, and even compete for points. Instructor: Michael Marquez

Adventures in Animation (Grades 4 and up)

From flip-o-ramas to zoetrope strips, create your own stories and characters and bring them to life through hand-drawn animation. Also make your own mini zoetrope to take home. Instructor: Michael Marquez

Tinkering Lab (Grades K and up)

Snoopy in Space (Grades K–3)

Creating Comic Characters (Grades 4 and up)

Learn the basics of character construction while exploring proportion and symmetry. Collage your character and create a 3D model with clay before creating your own comic strip story. Instructor: Michael Marquez

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!

This event has been CANCELED. Celebrate the New Year with the Peanuts Gang! Do your best Snoopy dance and ring in 2022 with an Up Down Balloon Drop and Baby Balloon Drop (for children 4 and under and their families) at Noon, and a second Balloon Drop at 3:00 pm—including appearances by Snoopy himself! Plus, enjoy fun crafts for kids, make a balloon Snoopy, and watch Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! on the big screen.

LIVE ONLINE: Drawn from Life Portrait Workshop

This is an online class. Learn the rules of facial features and proportion so you can break them! Artist Tami Tsark will teach the construction of the face and guide you through practicing key elements to render expressive portraits. Workshop will be held online via Zoom from 9:30–11:30 am PT. Registration required. 

Comic Artist Badge Workshop

Girl Scout Cadettes will earn and receive their Comic Artist badge in this special hands-on workshop. Girl Scouts can attend in-person at the Schulz Museum, or online. Registration required.

LIVE ONLINE: Drawn from Still Life Art Workshop

This is an online event. Join artist Tami Tsark in this interactive, online workshop and learn how to sketch and paint a simple scene from life with shading, hatching, and watercolor. Also learn how to use lighting for dramatic effect and clear rendering. No experience required, all ages welcome! Registration required.

Homeschool Day: Snoopy in Space

This event is SOLD OUT. Tickets available at the door. Snoopy has ventured into space in the Peanuts comic strip and as an unofficial NASA mascot. Learn about space through hands-on activities at the Museum. Ice skating at Snoopy’s Home Ice also available from 12:30–2:00 pm. Registration required.

Drawn from Life Drop-in Art Workshop

Drop-in for hands-on art with artist Tami Tsark. Learn to sketch and paint scenes from life, including people, landscapes, and murals with vivid color and large-scale drawings. No drawing experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. This event will be live-streamed and available to attend virtually for $15.00. Sign up for the online event here. Kids Night at the Museum

This event is SOLD OUT. Drop your kids off for after-hours fun at the Schulz Museum. Kids will have the Museum to themselves for a pizza dinner, games, art, crafts, and cartooning. Recommended for ages 5­–10. Registration required. 

Snoopy Stretch and Sip

Join yoga instructor Elizabeth Smith for playful yoga and gentle stretching, preceded by a walking meditation through the Museum’s outdoor Snoopy Labyrinth. Then, enjoy a glass of wine from Iron Horse Vineyards. Registration required.

Spring Break Classes for Kids (Grades K-6)

Spend Spring Break with the Schulz Museum! Experiment with STEAM art and science projects, get messy cooking in Pigpen's kitchen, learn to draw manga and anime, design robot hands and LEGO movie sets, paint with fun materials, cartoon creatures big and small, and even ice skate at Camp Freeze! In-person, online, week-long, and half-day classes available. 

LEGO Animation (Grades K–6)

Manga and Pokémon (Grades 3–6)

This class is SOLD OUT. Click here to join the waitlist. Spend five mornings learning to draw your favorite manga and Pokémon characters! Join artist Barbara Golden to practice sketching and shading with pencil lines, outlining with black ink, and adding color to your own manga art. Registration required.

Pigpen’s Kitchen (Grades K–6)

ONLINE: How to ‘Toon: Mega Monster Battle (Grades K and up)

This class has been cancelled. This is an online class. Join cartoonist Joe Wos and learn to draw fantasy monsters from islands, oceans, and outer space! Draw epic encounters between King Kong and Godzilla, giant squid and shark, and alien and robot. Class will meet online via Zoom from 2:00–3:00 pm Pacific Time. Registration required. 

Spring into STEAM (Grades K–6)

Make a balloon snow globe, see who can build the tallest marshmallow snowperson, experiment with peppermint candy science, and enjoy winter-themed movement games and activities. ONLINE: How to ‘Toon: Year of the Tiger (Grades K and up)

This class has been cancelled. This is an online class. Rabbits, tigers, and dragons, oh my! Join cartoonist Joe Wos and draw your way through the animals of the Chinese zodiac, including snakes, monkeys, dogs, and more. Class will meet online via Zoom from 2:00–3:00 pm Pacific Time. Art Lab (Grades K–6)

Cartoon Safari (Grades K–6)

Celebrate some of the jungle animals Snoopy pretends to be in the Peanuts comic strip. Create an origami elephant whose trunk moves, paint a snake using bubble wrap, make a piranha with a lot of teeth, and have fun with quicksand! Instructor: Tami Tsark. Registration required.
