The Junior Volunteer Program is FULL for Summer 2017! Check back after the summer for more opportunities to help! Children who are already 12 and 13 years old can now become junior volunteer helpers in all of our classes. Junior Volunteers complete an application process, attend a required training, and, if chosen, select 2 or more classes in which to help during the year. Junior Volunteers will receive training, mentoring, reviews and evaluations, and the chance to develop leadership skills while working with younger campers. Application fee is $30 for members; $50 for non-members. The Junior Volunteer Program is FULL for Summer 2017.

Join professional comics creator Jess Smart Smiley for a week of reading, exploring, and (of course) making comics! Dive pencil-first into the world of captions, gutters, and panels, as you build ideas for characters and stories, write and draw your own comics, and find out how comics work. Explore how comics work and discover writing and drawing techniques with professional cartoonist Jess Smart Smiley (Upside Down: A Vampire Tale, Spooky Sleepover, Adventure Time). Learn how to generate better ideas, create a rough draft, structure your story, create and design characters, and use panels, gutters, and speech bubbles to create your own comics. Class meets Monday - Friday, July 24 - 28, 1:00 - 4:30 pm.
