Scope and Contents note
Photocopies of correspondence from Charles M. Schulz to Frank Dieffenwierth. Frank Dieffenwierth was stationed with Charles M. Schulz at Camp Campbell, a United States Army base in Kentucky. After the war, Schulz and Dieffenwierth exchanged correspondence. These photocopied letters, ranging from 1946 to 1951, detail conversations in which Schulz writes about attempting to sell his comic strips, working for the Art Instruction School, lettering for Topix comics, and recieving rejections from various syndicates and publishers. The letters also include illustrations done by Schulz, including a rejected idea for a comic.
