Join local cartoonists to celebrate the release of You and Me on Repeat, the debut graphic novel by Mary Shyne. Hear a reading from Shyne’s rom-com graphic novel about two former friends trapped in a time loop together, repeating their high school graduation day over and over and over, along with works by cartoonist Donna Almendrala (Becoming a Dog Person) and comic writer Sam Sattin (Buzzing and Unico). A book signing will follow.
ABOUT MARY SHYNE
Mary Shyne is a Chicago-area native who spent a decade in New York working in publishing before getting her MFA at the Center for Cartoon Studies. She lives with her husband and pugs in the Bay Area, where she works on all things Snoopy at Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates.
ABOUT DONNA ALMENDRALA
Donna Almendrala is a cartoonist and graduate of the Center for Cartoon Studies Class of 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and worked at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory before earning an MFA at CCS. In 2013, she started her dream job at the Peanuts studio of Charles Schulz. She has contributed to Simon & Schuster’s Peanuts comic books, the 2018 Eisner Winner Celebrating Peanuts, and the Emmy-award winning animation The Snoopy Show.
She continues to create her own comics which have appeared in local publications such as Vermont’s alternative weekly Seven Days, Bay Nature and other small press anthologies. Becoming a Dog Person is her first graphic novel.

ABOUT SAM SATTIN
Samuel Sattin is the Eisner-nominated author of Buzzing and Scholastic’s Graphix’s bestselling UNICO series, alongside multiple acclaimed graphic novels, novels, and works of nonfiction. He resides in San Francisco with his wife and a corterie of unruly animals.
