Join award-winning filmmaker, stop-motion animator, and artist Matthew Sandager to learn the art of stop-motion animation in a hands-on workshop for ages 8 and up. Sandager will share tips, tricks, and the basics of creating stop-motion animation. Sandager has created critically acclaimed short films for Sesame Street. His recent short film, The Fountaineer, won Best Animated Short at the Indie Film Festival in 2023. Advance registration required.
ABOUT MATTHEW SANDAGER
Matthew Sandager is a filmmaker, animator, storyteller, and photographer based in New York City. His critically acclaimed short films have been shown in film festivals around the world, and his still photography has been widely published and exhibited in galleries across the US.
Sandager’s award-winning short film The Fountaineer is a stop-motion animated film based on an original script. His previous films include Dear Henri, which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2017 and went on to be shown in over 35 film festivals worldwide, including Toronto International Film Festival Kids (TIFF KIDS). Sandager’s ongoing work for Sesame Street has led to several films for the long-running children’s television program, including The Number Three and Belly Breathe.
