Who is Snoopy?
Pre-K to 2nd Grade
Aligned with Common Core
This introduction to museums, Charles Schulz, and Peanuts is specially designed for young students. Children will enjoy a hands-on tour of the Museum and see a Peanuts animated special. They will also play drawing games and create their own cartoons.
The Creative Process
1st to 6th Grade
Aligned with Common Core
Explore the creative process from inspiration to first draft to finished product. Students will learn how Charles Schulz drew from personal experience and imagination to produce the Peanuts comic strip. Younger students will learn to draw some of Schulz’s characters and add their own imaginative touches. Older students will follow the creative process from collaborative brainstorming to creating their own animation using stop motion technology.
Local Hero: The Story of Charles M. Schulz
2nd to 4th Grade

Explore the life and career of Charles Schulz and his contributions to local history. Learn to draw your own cartoons and some of Schulz’s most beloved Peanuts characters.
The Art of the Story
3rd Grade and up
Aligned with Common Core
Learn how Charles Schulz and other cartoonists use their own life experiences to develop characters and convey stories in just four cartoon panels. Explore the key elements of a story and learn to tell your own story with images in a hands-on cartoon workshop.
The Art of Cartooning
3rd Grade and up
Aligned with Common Core
Cartoons make us laugh, tell stories, and comment on the world around us. Learn how cartoonists use simple lines to show complex characters and emotions. Students will tour the Museum, and create their own animation sequence and watch it come to life in our giant zoetropes.
Character Creation Workshop
6th Grade and up
Aligned with Common Core
Discover how cartoonists and other artists come up with ideas and create characters. Then develop your own characters and stories and work in small groups to bring your stories to life with stop-motion computer animation.
Times and Fees
TIME: Monday through Friday | 9:00 am or 10:45 am
FEE: $7.00 per student. There is a 15-student minimum. Up to 10 adult chaperones are free. Additional adults are required to pay $7.00 per person.
FEE ASSISTANCE: The Schulz Museum is committed to making its programs available to everyone. We offer full and partial fee assistance for schools and groups needing financial aid. Fee assistance is limited and available for programs delivered between August and March only. Please request fee assistance when completing and submitting your program request form. Ice Skate at Snoopy’s Home Ice
Ice skating at Snoopy’s Home Ice is available Monday through Thursday* from 12:30–2:00 pm for $7.00 per person. Reserve your ice time when booking your group field trip with the Museum. To learn more about special skating sessions, lessons for groups, and group menus, call the ice arena at (707) 546-7147.
*Please note, ice skating is not available from June 2-July 31, 2025.
