Cartoon-a-thon: Celebrate 25 years of Comics with Paige Braddock and Peanuts

Join the Schulz Museum and local Bay Area cartoonists to celebrate cartoonist and illustrator Paige Braddock, whose work includes the graphic novel series Jane’s World and children’s book series Stinky Cecil and Peanut, Butter, and Crackers. Braddock is also the chief creative officer at Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, where she has promoted the legacy of the Peanuts comic strip for the past 25 years. Braddock will talk about and sign her work. Also, meet local cartoonists working in the field today, including Donna Almendrala, Brent Anderson (Astro City), Lex Fajardo (Kid Beowulf), Brian Fies (A Fire Story), Shaenon Garrity (Narbonic), Mary Shyne, Justin Thompson (MythTickle), Chuck Whelon, along with the Cartoon Art Museum, and more.
ABOUT PAIGE BRADDOCK
Paige Braddock is an Eisner-nominated artist and writer and the chief creative officer at Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates. Braddock earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tennessee in 1985. Early in her career she worked as an illustrator for several newspapers, including The Orlando Sentinel, The Chicago Tribune, and The Atlanta Constitution.
Braddock began crafting her long-standing comic, Jane’s World, in 1991. An anthology spanning 20 years of the comic, Love Letters to Jane’s World, was released by Lion Forge Comics in 2018. In 2019, it was selected as a Lambda Literary finalist for best LGBTQ graphic novel.
In 2022, Braddock won a Children’s & Family Emmy Award for her work on the AppleTV+ documentary Who Are You, Charlie Brown?, which won for outstanding nonfiction program. Also, in 2022, she delivered the dedication of the commemorative centennial Schulz stamp at the issuance ceremony and designed the Snoopy U.S. postage stamp issued in 2001.
In 2023, Braddock served as the commencement speaker for Montserrat College of Art and received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from the college.
Braddock also received a Canadian Screen Award in 2023 for best animated show or series for The Snoopy Show, on AppleTV+.
Braddock has also illustrated several Peanuts children’s books. Her other graphic novels for children include the series Stinky Cecil (Andrews McMeel) and Peanut, Butter, & Crackers (Penguin Kids).
