Before Peanuts, Charles M. Schulz created another feature for the funny pages. While not a comic strip itself, Li’l Folks was a collection of single-panel cartoons that explored the humor of little kids speaking like adults and finding themselves overshadowed in a big world not entirely made for them. See Schulz’s rare original Li’l Folks artwork in the collection of comics displayed here. Peanuts fans will find many hallmarks of the strip in these early panels when Schulz’s genius for comics was already unmistakable.
