Charles M. Schulz rejected hiring writers or paying for jokes despite the ongoing demands of creating Peanuts comic panels on a daily basis. Under weekly syndicate deadlines, Schulz worked at finding fresh ideas to lend to his cast of characters, sometimes recalling memories from his life or borrowing names of his characters from people he knew. In fact, much of what he poured into Peanuts Schulz drew from his own reality. Drawn from Life takes a closer look at the people and places in Schulz’s world that inspired the now well-known character names, traits, and gags in Peanuts.
