Meet, watch, and talk to Lila Martinez, director of the CG Batman animated series DC’s Batwheels at Warner Bros. Animation. Martinez will journey through her career in the animation industry, sharing her experiences working on various feature films and television series. She will delve into the creative process of directing animation, highlighting the importance of storyboarding and character development, and discuss the responsibilities of leading a team to bring a vision to life. Martinez will be available to meet and talk with visitors after her presentation.
ABOUT LILA MARTINEZ
Lila Martinez is a director based in Los Angeles. She was an episodic director at Warner Bros. Animation on the CGI-animated iteration of the Caped Crusader DC’s Batwheels. In her role as director, Martinez led a team of storyboard artists and contributed as a creative to help with the storytelling ideas and visual narrative. With a career spanning both feature films and television series, Martinez has worked on notable projects such as Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match (2022), DC’s Harley Quinn, Disney’s Firebuds, and The Simpsons.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Martinez honed her animation skills at the Vancouver Film School, where she produced and directed her short films. She also worked as a character animator on several feature films in Mexico before eventually opening her animation studio for commercials. In 2014, Martinez moved to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for storytelling and worked as a story artist on Netflix’s hit feature-length film Duck Duck Goose (2018).
