Meet, watch, and talk to Maria Scrivan, New York Times bestselling author, syndicated cartoonist of the strip Half Full, and creator of the Nat Enough series. In addition to writing and drawing the Nat Enough series since 2020, Scrivan creates the daily comic strip Half Full. She won the National Cartoonist’s Society Reuben Award for greeting cards in 2019. Scrivan will discuss her work, including her newest graphic novel, Nat for Nothing, and sign books after the talk.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Maria Scrivan is a New York Times bestselling author and award-winning syndicated cartoonist. Her graphic novel series, Nat Enough (Scholastic/Graphix), launched in April 2020 and was an instant New York Times bestseller. The sequel, Forget Me Nat, was published the following September, and Absolutely Nat and Definitely Nat were published in the fall of 2021. Nat for Nothing, the fourth book in the series will be published in February 2023.
Scrivan’s laugh-out-loud comic, Half Full, is syndicated by Andrews McMeel and appears daily in newspapers nationwide including the LA Times and on GoComics.com. Her work has appeared in many publications including MAD Magazine, Highlights, National Lampoon, Parade Magazine, Wired, and Huffington Post. She also licenses her work for hundreds of greeting cards to Recycled Paper Greetings, NobleWorks, RSVP, and Design Design.
Scrivan is a member of the National Cartoonists Society and the Society of Illustrators. She won the National Cartoonist’s Society Reuben Award for greeting cards in 2019 and was nominated in 2016, and 2017. Scrivan lives in Connecticut, very close to New York City. Her website is mariascrivan.com.
