Museum’s 15th Anniversary Celebration with Jeff Smith

On Saturday, August 12, the Museum held its 15th anniversary celebration. The Great Hall filled with cartoonists who spoke with visitors, signed books, and discussed cartooning in general. Jeff Smith, creator of the Bone graphic novel series, headlined the event with a discussion of his work led by Lex Fajardo and Paige Braddock.

At the end of his talk, Jeff Smith was awarded the “Sparky Award” by the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco for his contribution to the field of cartooning. Cartoon Art Museum board member, Dr. Michael B. Johnson, is shown here presenting the award to Jeff.

Jeff Smith signed books for many fans after his talk.

Here I am with the cartoonists who helped the Museum celebrate its 15th anniversary.
